Wir alle wollen einen Sinn in unserer Arbeit sehen. Es muss nicht immer das große, nachhaltige Projekt sein, das die Welt rettet. Manchmal reicht es, in der eigenen Firma wahrgenommen zu werden. Dabei geht es nicht darum, sich in den Vordergrund zu drängen, sondern darum, nachhaltige Verbindungen aufzubauen. Das gilt ebenso für Freelancer:innen, die sich ein Publikum aus potenziellen Kund:innen oder Fans schaffen wollen.

Working Out Loud (WOL) ist eine Methode, bei der sich 3–5 Personen innerhalb eines Arbeitskontextes treffen, um über mehrere Wochen hinweg gemeinsam etwas Neues zu lernen. Zum Beispiel könnte ich mir vorstellen, mehr über SwiftUI zu lernen und dabei eine kleine App als Übung zu entwickeln. Im WOL-Kontext würde ich mich regelmäßig mit den anderen treffen, um über unseren Fortschritt zu sprechen und uns gegenseitig zu unterstützen.

Etwas Ähnliches, nur ohne Kolleg:innen, bietet das Prinzip Build in Public. Hier postet man seinen Fortschritt öffentlich, um sich mit anderen auszutauschen oder Feedback zu erhalten. Ein gutes Beispiel dafür ist der Hashtag #100DaysOfSwiftUI.

Wichtig ist dabei, regelmäßig sichtbar zu bleiben1 und kontinuierlich zu arbeiten2 – ohne dabei in den bereits erwähnten Action Bias zu verfallen. Es geht darum, etwas Sinnvolles zu schaffen und es langfristig mit Leidenschaft zu verfolgen.

@firefoxx66 @happykhan I *think* I see the reasons for listing #chemistry or #virology for example in bio -especially reading @feditips post that you can log in to server and just follow those posts on your client app. In a sense much of finding the right people to follow on the birdblog was about working in a non-federated world? #learningbydoing #workingoutloud
