#linux #xsane #scanning #canondrf120
Hello alltogether, I have a question concerning scanning with Linux (Manjaro Linux, scanning with xsane, Scanner Canon DR-F120).
1. Only document feed is working, flatbed gives the error "feed is empty".
2. (more important) When I perform a preview scan, everything is fine, but when scanning, the colors are false. Magenta turns green and things like that. You can read it, but it would be cool, if the colors were fine.
Canon has no support for Linux
Is that a quidditch snitch in her hand?
This engraving was made to sell the borders in it, & appeared in a printer’s catalogue of 1917.

Wer seinen Scanner unter Linux einsetzen will, braucht…
www.heise.deI guess after you've used #xsane for a few years.... you just don't think about trying something else, even if others seem to think that #xsane isn't "simple" to use. I can scan something into a PDF or single PNG or JPEG's if I want. It's just really one little click to change the mode from one to the other.
Had a scare today! Tried to scan and my scanner kept giving me black pages. Tried both #simplescan and #xsane. Nothing! I don't believe in hardware randomly quitting though so I unplugged it from my laptop and plugged it into the desktop (a USB port in the back). Found a version of Simple Scan in the AUR that literally says it's the good version in the description. Successfully scanned all the work I had. Whew!!!
