Governments need to get a grip &legislate to encourage wide, responsible & safe use. Be like Berlin, not Paris nor Alicante.
I completely understand the sentiment and resentment against #escooters & rentals in particular.
Banning them doesn't seem like a good solution, though
Technology exists to disincentivise the #yplac behaviour. The rental companies didn't see it as profitable to force any kind of good behaviour on customers.
Germany (e.g. Berlin) seems to have sussed it with insurance, number plates, policing, homologation, helmets.

Wheelchair users or anyone else who can't negotiate that little bit of pavement they've deigned to leave us would be forced to go around on the road, into the oncoming traffic **which can't see them.** It makes me furious. #BadParking #YPLAC

Funnily enough, Edinburgh’s online parking complaint form doesn’t have an option for parking over Zig-Zag lines. So I reported it as a double yellow.
If anyone has a better way to report, I’m all ears.
