There was going to be a small window between church and the rain and I almost made it. I rode my #bicycle to the Chester Woods Trail as far as it goes and then back the short way home for 21 miles. Just as I was contemplating the long route home, there was a sprinkle of rain. The short route was the right choice as I got rained on the last 4 miles anyway. We need the rain, so no bad complaints.

My schedule and the weather cooperated, so I hauled my gravel #bicycle to just over the border in Wisconsin to ride the Great River State Trail through the Trempealeau Wildlife Refuge and then past Midway and back. I saw Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, American White Pelicans, Blue-winged Teals, Northern Shovelers and Yellow-rumped Warblers. Then I rode the new Flyway Trail from Winona MN to Buffalo Park in Wi.
