A rare time the answer to a headline with a question mark is "yes". Folding bikes are an exercise in compromise. Hubless bikes are an exercise in compromise. A folding, hubless ebike is bound to be the worst example of all three things by its very nature.

Hey, anybody bike in Snohomish county? I've extended the Greater Northshore Bike Connector Map further north, up up Lynnwood City Centre. I'm sure I'm missing stuff so... help me out? Tell me what I've missed?

Cainmark Does Not Comply 🚲

A few more petal like leaves on the Root River Trail today:

23 bicyclists, 8 electric.
4 people walking.
1 person walking with their dog.
2 people stepping off the trail to fishing.

More people than I've ever seen since November.

It's warming up a bit.

Newburyport's Clipper City Rail Trail is now a complete circuit for the first time, thanks to the town, and a new bike path along Parker Road! trailspotting.com/2023/04/newb

We've updated our map and article, and hope to check out the improvements for ourselves very soon.

check this out:

Cyclists DO NOT WANT TO CROSS 99 at 212th. They REALLY don't. I checked some heat maps; it's VERY clear.

They want to go half a mile or more out of their way and cross at 208th, or a mile and a half via 228th.

Not wanting to cross 99 at 220th makes sense on the map. 220th interacts with I-5 in ugly ways not much further east. That's fine.

But 212th doesn't. There's infrastructure on either side of 99, albeit short a couple of blocks. And _people use that infrastructure_.

But they _don't_ leave it. And they _don't_ cross 99 there.

And I can't for the life of me tell you why from looking at maps.

They know something, though.

I wonder what.
