"The religious origins of Ikebana date back to the 8th century. Legend has it that monks collected branches, twigs, and flowers that had been broken by storms, placed them in water to prolong their lifespan, and offered them on their temple altars."

If it were true that they only used storm-broken plants at first, then I really like that and will follow this school from now on. :)

Fuzzy white edges border the slender leaves of the lupin which radiate out from a bright center circle. The leaves are widely separated from each other. Four of them can be clearly seen among a mass of out-of focus darker vegetation in the background. Portions of others can be seen behind them and along the edges.

Black Head for #seawednesday

We're in the Burren in Co. Clare again. It's a very special place. It is the only place in the world where Artic/Alpine and Mediterranean/Subtropical plants grow side by side. This is due to the unique karst landscape and its microclimate. It the home to about 1100 plant species out of the 1400 species in the whole of Ireland. There are also two butterflies that live there - The Pearl-Bordered Fritillary and the Brown Hairstreak which are not found anywhere else in Ireland. 🦋 Oh! There's also a really cute fox that my Dad has basically adopted. 🦊 😂

Fishing For Moments
Hier stehe ich wirklich häufig und oft steht auch jemand vor mir – aber noch nie so fotogen wie hier. Gut, dass die kleine X100 immer dabei ist. Das „Fadenkreuz“ habe ich auch erst im fertigen Foto bemerkt. Rät jemand, was auf den Bildschirmen normalerweise angezeigt wird?

I stand here really often and often someone stands in front of me - but never as photogenic as here. It's a good thing that the little X100 is always with me. I only noticed the “crosshairs” in the finished photo. Can anyone guess what is normally shown on the screens?
