I have now started using my #BraveBrowser to view the #Mastodon web app instead of the standalone Safari app I was using.

It is easily 50 percent faster.

@radmin @vozercozer them featuring #Bitcoin #Ethereum, #BraveBrowser and not #Monero, #TorBrowser & #BitTorrent shows that the original creators (not the OP!) are #CryptoBros and #TechIlliterates as they shove in #Blockchain garbage everywhere and fail to acknowledge shortcomings.

I.e. #MetaMask is just garbage software and doesn't even work well, far less can replace #PayPal and do actual payments!

Also noone wants garbage like Ethereum, #Filecoin and/or whatever other #Shitcoin they pitch!

Recently #brave announced on their blog to partner with IOHK who's CEO Charles Hoskinson campaigned for #Trump during the election to his millions of followers on X and helped RFK Jr. to gain office.
Though he's in good company with Brendan Eich, who's also a piece of shit.

Some recent observations with #Brave browser.

- On Android I've had it just close randomly while I was reading something. Reopening it took me to the welcome page instead of the site I was on.
- On desktop (Linux, Debian package) there have been times where it stopped responding and I had to force close it and leave it closed a while. Opening it again too soon resulted in it hanging again.
- For some reason today Bandcamp audio wouldn't play on desktop; worked fine in Firefox.

We welcome other parts of the Firefox family (any browser with Gecko inside):
• The share of Librewolf mentions doubled since last year.
• The share of other Gecko-based forks mentions also doubled since last year. (Even though some Waterfox usage is not logged because i did not list it.)

The shares of Chrome and Vivaldi were stable for the first thousand answerers (maybe more IT inclined) but doubled with the later thousand (in the last 24 hours).

The share of the last line (Opera-Blink-Brave mentions) decreased since last year.

Has anybody else had issues lately with #Brave browser freezing on desktop? I've had it happen a few times where it'll hard freeze and even killing and reopening the browser doesn't fix it. I have to leave it closed for a few minutes and then when I reopen it it will have fixed itself.

Today I learned you can move the address bar in #Brave for Android to the bottom of the window instead of top.

1 - Go to brave://flags in the address bar.
2 - Search for "bottom toolbar". Enable it. You'll get prompted to restart the browser, do so.
3 - Open settings and you'll see the setting near the top between "Leo" and "Search Engines". You may have to restart the browser after changing it. Note for now the welcome page always has it on top regardless of this setting.

@ryanleesipes and AFAIK #Mozilla only has the #Trademark for #Thunderbird and @thunderbird is being granted useage for no fee...

Personally I wish Mozilla would also release #Firefox if not come to an arrangement where @torproject / #TorBrowser becomes the new #Upstream instead.

After all, that"s certainly better re: #privacy and way better than "yet another #Chromium fork" like #BraveBrowser ...
