The Fourier Transform is a mathematical operation that transforms a function of time (or space) into a function of frequency. It decomposes a complex signal into its constituent sinusoidal components, each with a specific frequency, amplitude, and phase. This is particularly useful in many fields, such as signal processing, physics, and engineering, because it allows for analysing the frequency characteristics of signals. The Fourier Transform provides a bridge between the time and frequency domains, enabling the analysis and manipulation of signals in more intuitive and computationally efficient ways. The result of applying a Fourier Transform is often represented as a spectrum, showing how much of each frequency is present in the original signal.

\[\Large\boxed{\boxed{\widehat{f}(\xi) = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} f(x)\ e^{-i 2\pi \xi x}\,\mathrm dx, \quad \forall\xi \in \mathbb{R}.}}\]

Inverse Fourier Transform:
\[\Large\boxed{\boxed{ f(x) = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} \widehat f(\xi)\ e^{i 2 \pi \xi x}\,\mathrm d\xi,\quad \forall x \in \mathbb R.}}\]

keen to know what is the next big thing as in next gen AI that does NOT need high hardware (processor + HBM) demands, and yet scalable for quantum computing?

listen to this dude, carefully.

what I can tell you is that what he is saying is legit.

U3A Communities

15th April 2025 at 3pm UK

This month we look at IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, including both IPv4 and IPv6.  The talk includes a brief description of IPv4 addresses, problems with IPv4, IPv6 addresses and current IPv6 status.

Joining details will be emailed to subscribers nearer the time.  If you aren’t a member, it’s free to join here https://u3acommunities.org/subscribe-to-computing-forum/.

Plenty of time is reserved for discussions.

The jury is still out on this.

"Last month, the [Microsoft] team made waves announcing their first topological quantum chip, the Majorana 1. More quietly, Nokia Bell Labs has been working on their own version of a topological quantum computer, and the company claims it’s demonstrated the key ingredients in 2023. Both efforts represent scientific achievements, but bulletproof evidence of a topological quantum bit is elusive."

Today I’m trying out a Kensington SlimBlade Pro Trackball, where the ball-fiddling (I picked that word carefully) is happening with the fingers, as opposed to the previous (and useless) one where I had to fiddle the ball with my thumb (and spent a complete day unable to click buttons or links). Let’s see how this goes.
