@thurrott So, I see whats happening here, the focus is #Copilot PC's get exclusives, but anything prior to July 2024 is planned obsolescence. I am so glad I am down to just one #Windows PC, once it stops getting feature updates, its a big spend on a #Mac Studio and Studio Display.

The Windows lock-screen on my work laptop was advertising Microsoft's Agents. I was pretty sure the technology wasn't there yet (thanks to @davidgerard 's work) so I tried it. I opened Copilot Studio and I asked it to create an agent that looks up train schedules and prices for me. Copilot told me "yes, I can". You won't believe what happened next... I found a very nice use-case for Copilot agent: make a map of code for high level view of the engine.

Now I can look at this and think about any optimizations or refactors. Remember, this is a pure assembly code base!

Aber über #Office und #Kollaboration hinaus: Welche Alternativen zu #Microsoft #CoPilot plant @zendis im Bereich Generative #KI aufzubauen, zu betreiben und anzubieten und wie schnell? Mit einem kleinen Entwickler-Team wird das kaum zu schaffen sein.
Um bei unserer schleppenden Digitalisierung, sehr hohem bürokratischen Aufwand und viel zu geringer Personalstärke die notwendige Fahrt aufzunehmen wird eine reine Office- und Kollaborationsplattform nicht ausreichen. So kritisch ich die #KI Entwicklung derzeit sehe - ohne KI- und Agenten-Systeme bleiben wir in Deutschland bei der #Digitalisierung weiter im Hintertreffen - und somit international im Nachteil - zusätzlich zu unserem Föderalismusproblem. Daher müssen wir uns auch bei KI souverän aufstellen - aber dürfen natürlich auch hier keinesfalls auf Lösungen von US-Unternehmen setzen.

Security Week 2515: уязвимости в загрузчике GRUB2

На прошлой неделе компания Microsoft отчиталась об обнаружении 11 уязвимостей в загрузчике GRUB2 с открытым исходным кодом. Мотивацией для Microsoft проанализировать опенсорсный проект была потенциально высокая опасность уязвимостей в GRUB: их эксплуатация может привести к компрометации операционной системы и открыть для потенциального атакующего полный доступ к пользовательским данным. Отдельным интересным моментом данного исследовательского проекта стало использование искусственного интеллекта, версии Microsoft Copilot, специально разработанной для устранения прорех в безопасности. В Microsoft прямо говорят, что использования Security Copilot самого по себе недостаточно для эффективного обнаружения уязвимостей, сервис лишь способен ускорить процесс поиска проблем в исходном коде. Помимо ИИ, в проекте также были задействованы традиционные инструменты, такие как статический анализ кода, фаззинг и ручной анализ. Тем не менее была показана эффективность языковой модели для обнаружения потенциально опасных участков кода, которые затем можно проверить и вручную.
