Meeting planners routinely define a creative event as novel decor/venues/food & beverage. We are biased against truly creative event design.

The guardian today asks if the £2.5m Rubens is a dud. By this they mean it might not merit being a verified Rubens.
But it's this the point of art? Is it a good painting? Yes? Well then, just enjoy it

Street art.
“I laugh at the way some people think graffiti is all selfish tagging and vandalism. Thoughtful street art is like good fiction – it speaks out on behalf of everyone, for us all to see.”
― Carla H. Krueger
Why do I write? Last night I dreamed that a murder victim was stuffed into a large duffel bag and hung from a ski lift chair. The police discovered the body and it was still twitching. I need an outlet for all this stuff in my head - It's that simple.
Why do I write? last night I dreamed the killer from Day of the Jackal had his special custom rifle aimed at #JamesBond (Roger Moore) during a day-long card game and I need an outlet for the stuff that comes out of my head, otherwise I'm going to go nuts.
Debuting at #IJCAI2025, the Art Gallery will feature #artworks that engage with the paradox of Machine Sovereignty and Digital Mortality. Will art illuminate these questions in ways that science cannot?

Sylvia's Studio"Craftsmanship is the silent poetry of hands, where each stitch and stroke tells a story of love, patience, and an indomitable spirit to create. In every piece lies a testament to human ingenuity and the courage to venture alone yet remain connected through creation."

Being able to modulate your tech comms is more effective for clear communication than asserting everyone should "just know how to block what they don't like".
Information transfer is bilateral, by definition. Having multiple parties involved means that there are SO many possible adjustments to improve comfort and quality for all involved. (Which includes anyone later, who sees it or is told about it or the original participants who go back and check.)

Find something you can be passionate about. It will be different for every person, and what works for someone else might not work for you.
If you would do it even if money wasn't a factor, or if you were worried about failure, then you may have found your creative passion.
"The artisan's touch transforms raw materials into a story told through skill, passion, and authenticity—a narrative that machines cannot replicate."

"𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒗𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚!" - Futurist Jim Carroll
I'm learning to make little cartoons. Pity my family!
Anyway, with that in mind, I'm thrilled to announce that we got an ISBN for 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒏 yesterday, so we are pretty close to being in print! I celebrated by putting together a little cartoon that showed my patience through the process.
I've also been tracking the weather for this weekend for a wedding shower for some good family friends. It's been looking like rain, but the forecast suddenly started to look better. I created a little cartoon to share this good news with my close friends.
All of this has come about as I continue to relentlessly explore the creative opportunities that are AI. (I haven't even touched on the massive explosion of creative innovation occurring with AI video. Suffice it to say, that the Bible, Titanic, and Star Wars will never be the same. If you are on social media, you will know.)
What is the point of all this? I continue to learn new skills, exploring the depths of opportunity and challenge with all the new technologies that surround us. This brings me to the point of today's post - I spent a little bit of time yesterday, pulling together this PDF and website - 101 Learnings for a Better Life. It's a series of lessons that I've worked to summarize over time that tries to summarize my approach to things. It's at betterlife.jimcarroll.com
I would encourage you to read it and share it - you might find some optimism among the gloom that seems to be a big part of our world today. And in fact, that's the origin of today's quote - because our future truly is a canvas of endless opportunity! I asked ChatGPT to summarize my 101 learnings and that is what it came back with!
Oh, and if you would like a personal little 6-frame cartoon with my 'little guy', send me a message with what you are looking for!

Futurist Jim Carroll’s family has not commented so far on the random little cartoons he is sending them throughout the day.
