For this week's piece, it's obviously a tribute to the work of Stéphane Picq, and of course it's a track from Cryo's Dune soundtrack, which was one of the biggest video-game slams of my childhood.

I had the CD-ROM version, and I still remember the big box with its incredible design, with its full-size manual that could be read horizontally, and this game with its crazy visuals and music, one of the first I played with 3D CGI animations.

J'ai joué chez un pote avec qui je partageais une passion pour K. Dick au #Ubik de #Cryo, ou plutôt j'ai essayé d'y jouer, ce qui n'était pas gagné tant le jeu était buggué et mal foutu. Pas rancunier, je l'ai acheté pour trois fois rien en #bigbox des années plus tard mais c'est vraiment parce que c'est Dick et que la boîte était assez classe.

Je vous propose une séquence inédite : les #bigbox... jamais ouvertes. J'avais fait la démo de Dreams to Reality, qui était un peu (un tout petit peu) le Tomb Raider de #Cryo. C'était joli pour l'époque mais ça sentait pas non plus le chef d'œuvre, je me rappelle surtout du héros qui volait péniblement, un peu comme dans ces rêves (justement) où l'on arrive pas à décoller... Bref j'ai eu l'occasion de le choper pas cher des années plus tard en bigbox toujours sealed, elle est restée en l'état.

Ce jeu était magique de poésie et d'ambiance ! La musique de Stéphane Picq était envoutante, je n'ai même pas besoin de la passer pour l'avoir en tête ! Je paierais cher pour une réédition de la BO «Spice Opera» !
