I was raised #Catholic. I currently identify as #agnostic #pagan. Which is say, that #gods or #deities, or whatever exist because people treat them that way. Like how we have seven-day weeks, and 24-hour days. And, if treated as #metaphor for "stuff that exists/happens that I/we don't understand," makes #religion as a concept somewhat sensical.

The best book about #Jesus and/or #Christianity I have encountered is _Jesus for the Non-Religous_ by John Shelby Spong. I'll put a Libro.fm link at the end.

Spong takes the reader through the #Jewish liturgical year, connecting the gospels and their stories to the various Jewish holy days. Because not only would a historical Jesus have been a #Jew, the disciples would also be Jews who follow Jesus. Whether Jesus was a historical person or not, the disciples are certain they had an important experience together, and that experience is Jesus-shaped.

The gospels are about this true thing that cannot be explained. It changed the lives of the disciples, and it is Important.

Last night I had a #dream that I went through my son's #backpack and every graded piece of school work had a grade between 20-35.

Deities have such an interesting connectivity. They give, take, nurture, harm, and more to each other. The Ancient Egyptian deities go a bit further and sometimes melt into each other, like colors in a paint palette. I find this aspect extremely intriguing and frustrating. How do you know exactly which manifestation you are connecting with? Does it really matter in the end? Are all Khnums of varying combinations still KHNUM proper? All valid questions to think on and figure out for oneself.

This image I am sharing was a commission for a kemetic practitioner. They experienced the vulture goddess Nekhbet very differently than others. They received her as Raet, the female Ra and the personification of the sun. The illustration features her three gods and how their relationships unfold. Ptah who cares for Amun-Ra. Nekhbet who brings life and rejuvenation to Amun-Ra. And Amun-Ra who is a bit detached and aloof in the sky. These are the very specific to them, manifestations of their deities. Which I think really highlights how personal and interconnective deities can be.
