For the former, the only thing in the way is time and effort (and priorities, which seem to be set well right now). For the latter, the culture in the Gnome community has to radically change.

So is there anyone here who uses the ratpoison window manager in 2025? From what I can see it has not seen a release since 2017. Is it still under development, given that is an X11 wm and everyone is moving towards wayland nowadays.

Is there an opensource email desktop client that is:
✔️ headquaters and main maintainers are in EU, UK, Canada, Australia and other places where democracy still present?
✔️ supports openpgp (at least signing and signatures verification)
✔️ integrates well with Gnome
✔️ can connect to Gmail (mostly to keep locally emails archive after creating a new email address to be used instead and during a transition period).

The KDE team has created a wonderful Network for your Androids it's called Konnect (actually KDE Connect) and the things that it can do are so various that I'll just show you one of them in the included photographs

The ease with which I can control a music 🎵 player that works on one Android from all my devices which run Konnect opens up possibilities which are just marvelous for a sound engineer like me
