I just happened across the Edit UUID project, Mustafa Akbay's request to take over the project & the rejection. It only took me a few minutes of looking at https://www.drupal.org/u/makbay to determine that Mustafa was 1) a real person 2) committed to improving Drupal (8 years/Credited on 23 issues) 3) someone we should trust until we have a reason not to.
An update to #Drupal's process of getting the “opt into security coverage” privilege is long overdue.
I had the luxury of time & resources to get involved w/o having to worry about paying my bills.
Not everyone has that luxury. Growing the #Drupal community requires empowering developers who may not have the time and resources to create a new sandbox module from scratch just to earn the “opt into security coverage” privilege.
I explored Drupal while supporting Howard Dean's presidential campaign w/ time + resources including fast internet connection & servers capable of running DeanSpace.
#introduction hello from my new account- I've moved off of #fosstodon
I do #openSource websites (preferring #ProcessWire cms these days but sometimes #drupal and #wordpress and #backdrop), databases (especially #CiviCRM) for organisations with good missions - a mix of charities, campaigns and journalism etc. - I'm particularly keen to work with orgs doing #ClimateEmergency #antiFascist #peace #LGBTQIA rights...
I post about #php #javascript #webdev #css and anti #ai nonsense.
#Cyberdeck

#Blogging
#Drupal
So, I am thinking of trying to do some Cyberdeck work as a Project. Gonna start with a kit first. Something like the uConsole and see how it goes.
I remember seeing a Dirty Civilian video on a survival data store. Might make for an interesting project. Something that can not just be used as a data system, but serve that information on a small network. I saw a device that did that but I want to build my own.
And I am thinking of just writing articles, blog posts, and stuff for my pages I started but haven't themed yet. Get actual stuff on them for people to read before making them pretty. Not sure.
Still haven't figured out the Drupal ActivityPub module.
Just what's in my head at the moment.
Drupal needs more new developers.
New developers need more #drupal experience.
Let’s incentivize organizations to hire new Drupal developers.
The Drupal Marketplace Initiative (with the Working Group led by our own @farriss) is designed to gather input from across the @drupal ecosystem. Check out this post to see the many ways you can contribute: through surveys, live community sessions, Slack prompts, and more. As Alka Elizabeth says, "What comes next will be shaped by the people who show up now." https://www.thedroptimes.com/48027/drupal-launches-marketplace-initiative-and-seeks-community-feedback #drupal #foss #opensource

New #Drupal module, Node Swapper, is designed to make it easier to swap an existing node with a new node and preserve all existing aliases and redirects in the process.
The main use is for large-scale page redesigns where you want to keep the old node in some capacity, but you don't want to lose any traffic during the transition, or risk modifying aliases and redirects by hand.
It's still in development, so I welcome any feedback you may have!

I’m a big fan to #drupal Planet (https://www.drupal.org/planet) via RSS, but I think we can raise the quality of content with a few easy steps.
1. Quarterly emails to sources reminding them of guidelines.
2. AI usage disclosure requirement.
If you agree, please leave a comment: https://www.drupal.org/project/content/issues/3518897 and https://www.drupal.org/project/content/issues/3475624 (meta issue: https://www.drupal.org/project/content/issues/3518902)
Sincere heartfelt congratulations to one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing in the #drupal community.

Drupal.orgSigh, another step in the OOPing of #Drupal. I wish all these people who are trying to eliminate functional programming would go off and create a popular open source CMS in Java or something.
Rather than magically named functions such as template_preprocess_container…
