My laptop can boot either #Manjaro Linux or #EndeavourOS, both #ArchLinux derivatives and both patched reasonably recently (within the last week). Manjaro has a 6.12.19-1-MANJARO kernel with the Plasma desktop, and EndeavourOS has a 6.13.7-arch1-1 kernel with the Cinnamon desktop. Both have the power profile set to Balanced.

EndeavourOS “Mercury Neo” released!

After EndeavourOS “Mercury” got released on February 10th, the team behind EndeavourOS has released a March 2025 refresh of the same distribution version, called “Mercury Neo.” It brought updated versions of all applications, including the following:

Calamares 25.02.2.1-2
Firefox 136.0.2-1
Linux 6.13.7.arch1-1
Mesa 1:25.0.1-2
Xorg-server 21.1.16-1 (xorg)
Nvidia 570.124.04-4

This makes sure that your system is up to date with the latest version of all software released with this version of EndeavourOS. Mercury Neo only affects new installs, but the team ensures that your system is running fine if you upgrade regularly.

The xwaylandvideobridge package has been removed upstream, so the install scripts no longer refer to it as it has already been deleted. In addition to that, obsolete NVIDIA-specific boot menus have been removed to clean things up.

For users living in some regions, the Arch mirror ranking stage, which is run before installation finishes, has been fixed so that it can correctly rank some Arch mirrors to prevent installation failures.

For UEFI systems, if you try to install “Mercury Neo” with systemd, the EFI system partition is generated with 2 GB in size instead of the smaller 1 GB size.

No dobra, EndeavorOS zainstalowany. Nie spodziewam się dużych różnic względem Manjaro, ale zadecydowałem wczoraj, że najbliższy rok będzie czasem distro-hoppingu. Powiedzmy, że w celu zaspokojenia ciekawości. ;)

Este tal #Q4OS me ha molado muchísimo. Instala #Debian 12 KDE, sin rebranding (#EndeavourOS I'm looking at you ), y con una opción que el instalador oficial de Debian NO tiene (y me sorprende), que es el poder elegir entre una instalación básica o con muchos programas preinstalados.

Con Debian me toca siempre desinstalar mucho software tras una instalación (ya sé que hay instalaciones avanzadas, pero un toggle en el instalador normal estaría increíble).

Someone knows if there's a way to ensure a certain device mounts before another?

Situation: I have a partition inside a device that mounts on /home, and another on another device that (should) mounts on /home/warehouse, but normally it doesn't mount at boot time, although mounts normally after booted.

Finished the build, install and configuration of my new PC today. The last was an Intel built in 2015 and the new is the latest/greatest AMD. Curious whether this one will last as long.

Gotta say, Arch #Linux (well, #EndeavourOS because it's better; fight me) is *blisteringly* fast on it, even with the older Nvidia 2060 SUPER GPU.

Tested #NewWorld Aeturnum in Steam (my usual game) and #SoulFrame Preludes in Lutris on it, and the fans barely changed under load on highest settings.

Une collègue m'a demandé de l'aide : elle a branché des vieux écouteurs iPhone à la prise Jack de son portable Dell. Ils ne fonctionnent pas. J'essaie sur le mien, idem. 30 minutes à essayer de trouver une solution. Rien, c'est comme si la prise Jack n'était pas reconnue par #Windows11.

J'essaie avec mon laptop perso quasi identique, mais sous #EndeavourOS. Ça fonctionne immédiatement. Avis aux personnes qui pensent que #Linux, c'est moins bon et plus compliqué que Windows : vous avez tort !

Almost ready to wipe my Tumbleweed laptop and start fresh again. Currently leaning towards Bazzite for more stability, easier/supported app installs, and official Framework support. Wondering about app freshness on Bazzite though.

I do need to look more into atomic distros vs rolling (EndeavourOS is also on the table), and how much RedHat controls the Fedora project.
