Got my hands on this little gem recently, they’re hard to find in a decent state at a decent price tag. Got lucky though so now I have a dedicated laser diode driver in my lab 🤩
Not super high power, it maxes out at 500mA, but it’s enough for a whole range of experiments and it has a lot of nice safety and control features 🙂
It’s surprisingly complex inside, but nicely built and very clean. Doubt it’s seen many hours usage, the fan is just fine 👍🏼

I'd like to make 2 changes to the software industry.

1. The removal of AI. Let’s just pretend it never happened, so we can try again in 50 years with a more ethical and sustainable approach.

2. Find a way to include the use of lasers in software development. Where would we use them? How would they be implemented? I have no idea. These are questions without answers. I just know I want lasers, because lasers are cool 😎

Gerade einmal 130 Jahre ist es her, dass Wilhelm Conrad #Röntgen die nach ihm benannten Strahlen durch Zufall entdeckt hat. Heute steht bei Hamburg mit dem European #XFEL der größte #Röntgenlaser der Welt. Seine ultrakurzen Lichtblitze übertreffen die Leuchtstärke sehr guter Röntgengeräte um das Milliardenfache. Forscher können atomare Details von Zellen entschlüsseln und sogar chemische Reaktionen filmen. Das zweite Bild zeigt den #Laser an der Experimentierstation FXE.
