#BernieSanders is not your friend, he has deceived the mass of the American #left when it was most energetic & willing, funneled them into the dead end that is the #DemocraticParty.

If he had a slightest care to y'all he would have campaigned #independent of the Dem since long ago. He did not. He is not.

If #BernieSanders had led a 10-15M voter chunk out of the 50M member #DemocraticParty, they'd clearly & obviously never be able to get elected again without us in a way that would matter & couldn't be hidden from view. That would bring the #left into the light and put our agenda on the table.

Relating: when checking the results, I noticed that my party Vasemmistoliitto (”The #Left Union") has the highest amount of immigrants in the new city council group. Both percentage-wise and in absolute numbers: three. This either a) is great news or b) tells something about latent #racism in #Finland.

I ’ll pick a) for now.

A common problem of the contemporary #liberal #left is not claiming the values of discipline, commitment and militancy back from the right.

Allowing the right to claim ownership of those values while doubling down on values like safety leads to giving up the tools to achieve it in the first place.

Those safe spaces won’t police themselves. They need tough & muscular nonbinaries and allies standing by, ready to punch any nazis coming in to disrupt them.

The narrative needs to #change.
