Here are my notes about running #firejail on #Slackware #Linux to isolate Web browser applications and don’t let them access my precious data.
#Firefox #Librewolf #Microsoft #Edge

Since I started using other Desktop OS than OpenBSD,…
www.tumfatig.netWith a few changes to @alien SlackBuild I’ve got a native #librewolf on arm64. I didn’t expect it to be so easy, but here we are. I’ve generally repackaged the AppImage, but I’ll have to compare this for a bit, see how it does.
I have uBlock and Canvas Blocker off, the little shield thingy off, my VPN off, and Autoplay allowed, but still cannot play videos on bandcamp. Anyone else having this problem?
@mhoye @theverge the Verge puts 800 cookies in your browser when you visit their website . So ...
Concerning Chrome try the alternative #Librewolf based on firefox with settings more respectful of your privacy
Hoy le cambié el idioma a #LibreWolf al italiano para aprender un poco más. Vamos a ver cuánto me dura el cambio jeje.
@servus @chalinebang "If my phone is so smart, why am I only doing dumb stuff with it?"
I've been wondering this since smartphones first became a thing. We had the technology to put computers in our pockets and the best we could do was run horribly limited toy versions of the software we already had on desktop and laptop systems for decades. I'm so glad #postmarketOS exists. Typing from #Librewolf on my pmOS OnePlus 6T, which actually feels like a true pocket computer.
Was genau mach ich hier falsch?
Alright I now regret using #Firefox. Not because #Mozilla did shoot with the source code. Because its blocker doesn't protect my #privacy. I also regret reading about ADHD on my Android phone on #Chrome or even having a normal #Android phone.
Last week I read about ADHD on the web using Android's stock Chrome, now Google ads is showing me advertisements about ADHD. Down with you Google.
If anyone cares about their privacy, they should avoid #Google like #plague It's a pity still people use the services it offers including the search engine.
The #Web has become a bad and creepy place. For now I'm switching to #LibreWolf.
life hack for kde and firefox (librewolf) users:
set "widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker" to "1" in "about:config" to use dolphin as your file picker if its not being used by default yet.
Here are comments on the evolution of browser share in a year.
(The three samples are heavily skewed to English-speaking higher eds.)
Last year results: https://techhub.social/@estelle/112047924116566034
You may still answer in the previous toot.
3/4 Fediverse members use #Firefox proper. Same as last year.
We welcome other parts of the Firefox family (any browser with Gecko inside):
• The share of Librewolf mentions doubled since last year.
• The share of other Gecko-based forks mentions also doubled since last year. (Even though some Waterfox usage is not logged because i did not list it.)
The shares of Chrome and Vivaldi were stable for the first thousand answerers (maybe more IT inclined) but doubled with the later thousand (in the last 24 hours).
The share of the last line (Opera-Blink-Brave mentions) decreased since last year.

@meeper #Librewolf is very easy to configure to remove your cache and history every time you close it out. On the #ADHD stuff, I don't know, but #Librewolf has been my favorite browser to use of all time. And it works with #UBlockOrigin.
Which browsers do you use?
• Multiple choice to account for various usage and any device (pro & perso)

I keep finding myself having to manually disable and re-enable a few different settings as I use Librewolf, namely Letterboxing and WebGL, as I switch between browsing the internet and trusted sites or home server UIs. Is there any way to configure these on a site-by-site basis, or at least from a container/profile interface of some sort?
#LibreWolf v137.0.2-1 is now available!
https://codeberg.org/librewolf/bsys6/releases/tag/137.0.2-1
No major changes from LibreWolf's end. See https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/137.0.2/releasenotes/ for upstream changes.
Is there a #LibreWolf plugin that automatically says "Dislike AI" to #DuckDuckGo #AI suggestions and then turns them off?
Been using #KDE Okular as my default pdf reader on #Linux, and just worked out that there's a setting that allows you to specify dark and light colours, meaning you can read pdfs in #DarkMode. No more having to put sunglasses on to read manuals! And you can assign it to a keyboard shortcut, so I've set it to the same as #DarkReader in #LibreWolf.
I love it when Linux Just Works.
