The #Firefox based #browsers all did really poorly. #LibreWolf fails the #SpeeDOMeter tests with a score of "Infinity" which is odd, and it throws an error in 3.1 which I have never seen before. The best thing I can say about them is that #Floorp is now faster than #Microsoft #Edge, and FF is now benching at speeds that Chrome first got last year in SpeeDOMeter, and in 2022 for JetStream. Of course some credit is probably due to Windows updates.

I ran #BrowserBench on a few of the browsers I have installed on my Ryzen/Radeon Windows 11 machine and the results are typical (#Gecko browsers are slow) and unusual (#Arc and #Vivaldi somewhat outpace mainline #Chrome)

If you're looking for a Firefox fork, #LibreWolf is quite close to regular firefox. There's only a few thing I've had to do to tweak it:

Disable resist fingerprinting (breaks a lot of stuff)
Re-enable firefox sync

From memory, that's about it.

If #Debian manages to keep AI crap out of firefox for another couple years, kudos to them! <3

What's wrong with my #Vivaldi browser? I've just installed #ArchLinux, so I've also got a fresh browser. But the strange behavior it's exhibiting is so bizarre it's hard to believe.

I can't paste anything with CTRL+V. Capital letters like "R" and "M" don't work. HOME doesn't work. "Page up" and "Page down" don't work. Since #Librewolf and #qutebrowser work perfectly fine, it can't be the operating system. So, what's going wrong here? I haven't the faintest idea. @Vivaldi

Can I just say, #librewolf team, you guys make a fantastic product. I'm literally using my signed-in Firefox acounts to search for videos, copying the link to LibreWolf, and completely avoiding all ads, without YT making a peep. Well done.

Hmmm. Looking at a Times article and the Enter Reader View option has been removed in my #LibreWolf browser.

The option is still there on other tabs, just disabled on the Times website.

We've updated the default browsing data sanitizing config to a newer version of the settings. This _should_ not affect the actual settings at all (and did not during our tests), but we advise you check your "clear/remember history" related settings after updating anyway, just in case.

See mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/140. for upstream changes.

Speaking of Firefox, I noticed that recently it started doing that Internet Explorer thing where it replaces HTTP error pages with a Firefox error page instead of showing the one the website provides. Does anyone know if there's a setting in about:config to disable that? I'm using Librewolf 139.0.4-1

Recently, some interactive “demo” boxes (example here) in the MDN web docs stopped working on LibreWolf for me. The preview was blank and clicking on the buttons did nothing.

Turns out I had enabled “Limit cross-origin referrers” in settings, and unchecking the box allowed MDN to work normally.

Hope this helps!

CANNOT BELIEVE I have not been doing this for the past thirty years.

#Librewolf (or, you know, #Firefox, I guess) lets you add "keywords" to bookmarks. Type the keyword, hit return, go to URI directly.

Odd/annoying problem logging on to @mstdn @stux using @librewolf #Librewolf (a #Firefox fork) - it won't accept my username and password. I can't remember if it ever worked, but definitely not this week.

I just tried disabling any relevant extensions and even ResistFingerPrinting in case they were interfering, but nothing helped.

It's fine in Chromium-based browsers - e.g. Edge and Vivaldi, where I had either logged off or had never logged on before.

If #LibreWolf would reintroduce the missing FTP support in its fork - I am all in :)

I have a dilemma with browsers: [solution found, see comments]
I really like Zen Browser but it has a ram issue on my computer which causes frequent crashes. I switched to LibreWolf and it's having the same issues. I'm on fedora.

Default Firefox does not have these issues, I'm thinking that's because it's a native rpm package and not a flatpak. There doesn't seem to be an rpm version of Zen or LibreWolf. I could switch to default firefox but it's got mozilla telemetry and extra features I don't want to see. I want a private browser, as of recently this probably isn't a great choice.
Is there any other version of firefox that isn't changed much? Or should I just use normal firefox?

Anybody know what setting I need to modify to make weather radar sites work in Librewolf? I’ve tried several from my local news sites, NOAA, aviation sites, etc. They all just show a blank box where the radar graphics would be. I’ve tried enabling WebGL and checking canvas permissions which they don’t seem to want anyway. Not sure what else could be causing this.

I only have two plugins, Bitwarden and UBlock Origin, and I tried turning UBlock off for some of the sites to no effect, so I’m thinking it has to be a Librewolf setting. The sites work fine in vanilla Firefox.

Hab auf #Librewolf gewechselt... gewohnte Firefox-Erfahrung, aber Datenschutz-technisch schon optimiert.
