Helllo, I have a #MastodonHowTo Etiquette question : Sometimes I really like a post, and I boost it. But I also realize that in the post are some hashtags missing , which would give it a much larger impact, making it more easily found etc.
What is the polite thing to do ? Write a reply that only contains the missing hashtags ? Paraphrase the post in the reply and add the hashtags ? Or is adding new hashtags not the polite thing to do ? Anybody any thoughts ?
PS: did I use the correct hashtag ?

Question for more experienced mastodon users:
How does one post a series of messages which are related to each other ? Usually they are numbered. Is there an accepted etiquette for this on the network?
If anyone needs to switch instances, this step by step how-to lets you switch and maintain as much of your info as possible. (Follows, bookmarks, blocks, etc.) Very helpful!
An unofficial guide to using Mastodon and the Fediverse
Fedi.Tips - An Unofficial Guide to Mastodon and the FediverseIs there an effective way to thread posts on Mastodon? In my feed I see posts. Many are from the same author, replying to their own post, in a cascading series. Is there a setting I can use to put all of these posts and replies in line? As opposed to saying them randomly in my feed?

How you post over the 500 Mastodon limit? I found the answer.
Hope this helps new users of the Mast, because there are so many now.
@pkrugman@mastondo.online posted a 7 part post yesterday, noting wrong with that, thx. Good graphics on wage growth.
But to new users coming from the bird, the Mast normal limit is 500.
Yes. If you go to the settings page under appearance here:
https://sauropods.win/settings/preferences/appearance
You will see something called "Slow Mode." This will make the timeline stop updating so fast. It's very annoying.
Is the app beeping a lot? That's the other one that tends to drive people nuts...
@bunnytown I don’t see it on yours, but I also don’t see it on a photo I posted last night - and I was so careful to try and be as descriptive as I could. What are we doing wrong?

@corbin what a charm!
How do you mute keywords on here? Admittedly the two events I wanted to mute are now over, still would like to know how to do it.

@tim There is an official Twitter way (see the link below) to create a thread of connected tweets.
For Mastodon, what are the steps for creating a series of connected posts as a single narrative?
Follow-up question: Is there a Mastodon equivalent of "unrolling" a Twitter thread?

Mashable posted an article entitled: "All of your burning Mastodon questions, answered." Some people may find it helpful as there's some good information (link is below).

Number one thing to understand is the search does not search post content. In order to find content f interest, and more importantly to have your content be found by interested parties, you must use hashtags. And put them in a block following your content so users of reader apps can hear coherent content not imbedded with hashtags.
