The popular repositories, where life #scientists post research before #peerreview, will be managed by a new organization called #openRxiv.
Until now, they had been managed by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The new organization, named openRxiv, will have a board of directors and a scientific and medical advisory board. It is supported by a fresh US$16M grant from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI).

Risk Factors of Human Mpox (Monkeypox) Infection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

New study: Given the publishing requirements for medical professors in #India, and given the number of future medical professors in the pipeline, it's possible to calculate that Indian medical journals cannot meet the expected author-side demand. IMHO it would be nice if @biorxivpreprint and @medrxivpreprint would accept theoretical / conceptual preprints (as far as I know they are rejected on screening, unless it changed recently). So I made that suggestion on the survey.

Interesting study on COVID contact tracing, manually, or via apps. In NL, merely 2% of the PCR tests were done after a notification originating from the Dutch tracing app (CoronaMelder), and just 2.5% after being traced manually.

The study concludes that contact tracing, digitally or manually, had little effect (“limited impacts”).
