There is something very particular in living a tri-lingual life, it's that I'm often confused in which language to take personal notes.

For work it's easy, mostly in English. About my kid it's mostly in German. And French everywhere in between. My calendar events are a mess, my bookmarks are a mess, my contacts are a mess.

This is ok till I need to look for something specific, because if I look for the word in the wrong language I won't find anything.

At last, my air nozzle and tyre inflator. Almost bought new ones after I couldn't find them.

Took tidying up the extra room, which I used as temporary workshop, wardrobe, seedling spawning and dumping place for all the boxes we moved over and didn't quite get sorted, plus all the new crap we bought and haven't installed yet.

So since October a massive mess grew there. Finally used some sunny weather+coffee+nice food energy to tidy up.

We recently published an article in German in which we mentioned Amazon.de. Someone apparently used an AI translator to translate the text into English, and the #AI changed Amazon.de to Amazon.co.uk.

The human didn't notice that he was being confused and posted something about UK online, which other people started opining on.

What a #mess.

Which doesn't matter, because certificates serve no useful purpose anymore (you don't need a certificate to encrypt a connection): you can get a certificate for anything.

Https server certificates have been reduced to proof that your browser has a secure connection to *you-don't-know-whose* server (often a MitM such as Cloudflare) based on some irrelevant unique string of characters, which gets more meaningless as new TLD's are being added.

Meanwhile the internet is flooded with randomly generated domain names such as ?.com, (? = 4-6 characters), *.suijidaohxl.top [1] and *.ragaz.co.za.

The answer is simple – because your device’s designer decided to save one cent while building your device, and didn’t care about testing the device before selling it to you. In other words, your device is supposed to have two resistors connected to the USB-C plug, yet it does not, and USB-C power supplies are unable to detect that they ought to provide power. Remember, the resistor detection is fundamentally a safety mechanism, and by now, information about this problem is omnipresent."

The overall situation of USB-C out there does seem to be a clusterfuck.
