Great Rhombicosidodecahedron
When I was 13 I made one with colored poster board at home. When finished it didn’t fit in the back of her 1968 Ford Country Squire station wagon so my mom and I tied it to the top and took it to the new middle school. Folks at the school planned to put it on display but were surprised at how big it was. They ended up putting it in a mesh net and hanging it in the multi-story foyer.

It's when you are in a vehicle, moving forward, and immediately shift to either reverse or to a gear too low for the engine's current RPM. The engine's internals get fucked, the engine seizes, and a bunch of money must be spent on new parts and/or service before the car will move on its own again.
I need to get used to saying "money shift" when it happens.

Reminder that self diagnosis is valid and doesn't take away anything from anyone else. Let people identify. It's just as "official" of diagnosis as a random stranger looking at you for three hours of your life is determining your fate.

@dave@autisticnomad.socialI was diagnosed with inattentive type ADHD, which led to learning about Autism and finally self-identifying as Autistic.
I made a conscious decision not to seek a professional diagnosis, because I'm comfortable enough with my self-dx and I don't believe a professional diagnosis would impact my life.
That being said, after this latest bout of hyperfixation, I'm feeling more motivated to talk to my doctor and see if I can get a referral to a psychiatrist. Not necessarily to confirm being Autistic, but to rule out or identify other things.
I've also been off of my ADHD meds because I don't find they make a difference. I'm not confident I actually have ADHD. Those symptoms are the worst when I'm feeling overstimulated and burned out.
That being said, I'm wondering if stimulants would make a difference when I'm in hyperfixation mode. I wonder if they'd help me regulate my attention and disengage more easily.

Hey lovelies 
Apologies that we're struggling to interact here or other places like Discord 
Whilst ADHD med titration is realistically going about as well as possible and is overall highly positive, it's not being done in a vaccum.
There are sadly other life factors that are making us struggle to have the mental bandwidth or desire to be more social 
Due to these factors, we're prioritising the wellbeing of us, our wife, and our cattens over others. We're aware that this is selfish, but we can't do this and help everyone else right now.
You can still reach us in theory via Discord, but we may take several days (up to a week sometimes) to send a basic response.
If you have us on Signal, Matrix, or Delta Chat, we'll likely respond a bit sooner, but please expect us to be slow to respond and limited in capacity.

I'd like to write a book about hyperfixation. There isn't enough material out there about it, and it is absolutely my most predominant Autistic trait.
I can remember fixation cycles going back to at least my teenage years, but it took until my late 30s before I even had a word to describe the behaviour, let alone associate it with ADHD and Autism.
