Blender already allows users to edit videos using compositing nodes. While you cannot directly add nodes into the Video Sequence Editor (VSE), you can use compositing nodes to edit videos by integrating them into separate scenes or by using add-ons that automate the process.

Editing videos in Kdenlive with a node editor is not that strange of an idea. There are already applications that have these features.
