There's something of a @DoESLiverpool takeover of the @oshwassociation Show and Tell this month - I'm going to be on talking about @MCQN_Ltd's My Bike's Got LED boards and @huffeec and @Snoof will be repping their company STEAM Engineers too!
Tune in at 5pm GMT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwPf12toLq4
Catching up on the @oshwassociation show and tell sessions to remind myself of the format before I'm on it on Thursday, and it was lovely to hear about @ivor's IvorTRK

www.youtube.comJust released a preview video for my current project: a DIY open hardware TFT display mod for the classic Game Boy (DMG01). I built it using the new RP2350B, so the release will have to wait until Raspberry Pi officially launches the controller chip. I’ll post an update when the project is ready for the public.

Keeping with the 15khz theme. Here’s a tester. I made a few years ago. Just plug it in, power the monitor up, and press the little button. Within 3 seconds you’ll know if the monitor is compatible.
And a fully free design as well: https://github.com/planeturban/15khzvgatester

GitHubThe Flow Battery Research Collective (FBRC) are building an open source battery. Technology writer Koen Vervloesem did a nice write-up about their #FOSDEM talk in the Energy devroom. FBRC works on redox flow batteries which are better suited for long-term, stationary storage and less hazardous than Li-ion batteries. FBRC plan to democratize flow battery technology by developing an open source flow battery, starting with a development kit.
A good way for people to keep control is to go open source. Think about it for your next creation.

Nice surprise in the post today: my membership welcome letter from @oshwassociation

I haven't worn a watch since my old Rotary got stolen years back, but am half-tempted to get one of these:
Having found out about it due to the excitement about the not-open-source-hardware (AFAICT) #Pebble announcement.

watchy.sqfmi.comI'd like to start learning open source toolchains for building SoC including CPU, GPU and neural accelerators. I'm looking at this repo for mostly open source 64-bit RISC-V SoC based on the closed source Xilinx Vivado chips and programmer:

Are there any recommendations for FPGA dev boards that I can learn and play with that run open source hardware 64-bit Linux in an SoC?
I bought this starter kit just to slowly run Debian on a single 64-bit RISC-V core processor:

I'm hoping to use it to at least start to get familiar with the FPGA programming languages for relatively large-scale chip designs.

www.byran.eeOne project that's been simmering in the back of my mind is an embedded system replacement to NINA or ASIair. A single-purpose, #OSHW device that can do everything NINA or ASIair can do.
I have no idea where to even begin with that — and with my track record lately, I'm unlikely to ever make any significant progress on it — but I think it would be really cool.
