The bedroom window of an abandoned farm in the Peak District, England. Always wanted to revisit, but I never managed to find it again...

Kinder scout plateau, looking west, from Grindslow Knoll. As usual in anything except perfect weather, the combination of a plateau edge and clouds makes for hurricane winds where I'm standing. The incisions (cloughs) along the plateau make for excellent scrambling in mostly hidden but steep rocky creek beds. #peakdistrict #nature #hiking #landscape

The end, or beginning of the Limestone way, is a sharp but scenic valley ending at Castleton, overlooked by the Norman Peveril Castle. #castle #nature #hiking #limestoneway #peakdistrict

@quixoticgeek perhaps somebody could pass the message to #chelseacoltart that there is a very simple solution.
It’s called a bus.
You don’t have to park it, and it will drop you very close to your destination.

Flippin' 'eck, Tucker!

Ahhh well, maybe getting to the top of Shining Tor (550m) was ambitious for mid-February. But we'll see how it goes. Back later this afternoon *waves*

Lathkill Dale in the #Derbysire #PeakDistrict is one of the country’s finest & dramatic limestone valleys and a haven for flora and fauna. Remnants of its industrial past can be seen, not least the interesting Bateman’s House. Details at tinyurl.com/yc2748yx

Thrilled to see one of my #paintings from 35 yrs ago being framed for the first time. Can't wait to get it back and up onto our wall.

Another one from 2013; I honestly think this #landscape shot of the viaduct at Monsal Dale might be one of the best photos I've ever taken. It printed beautifully with very little effort, too. Always nice when it works out like that.

I'm privileged to have beautiful Peak District countryside right outside my front door. Snapped a few pictures on Friday before the thaw started. #dogsOfMastodon #peakdistrict

The Sculptor

Well for the last 3 days I've been welding to keep warm! This chap is made from engine & plough/harrow parts with the odd nut, bolt & spanner. He's a seat for the Toll Bar Fish & Chip Shop in #StoneyMiddleton #PeakDistrict who had their original one vandalised on Boxing Day😢 I've named him "Steel Stanley" after my much missed Spoodle whom I lost to a stroke a couple of months ago. He'll be powder-coated next week as I don't want anyone getting a rusty bottom! #recycle #metalwork #MansBestFriend

So proud of my two daughters. I just couldn't ever get them interested in climbing hills & mountains. Now, both in their 40's, they are qualified mountain leaders, do SAR stuff and go out at night into the hills to play in the snow. Why couldn't I get them to do that? 😂

Believe it or not this is on Mam Tor in the Peak District
