Donkey Kong for the #Commodore #Plus4 looks fantastic! https://www.indieretronews.com/2025/07/donkey-kong-for-commodore-plus4-looks.html
I just came across Retrocomb's video on how to connect to the BBS via a Plus/4. Thanks for the callout!

I have reworked RetroBBS's Weather plugin, it now uses open-meteo.com API, displays.
It now have an optional second screen displaying the temperature curve for the next 7 days.
Additionally, if the terminal supports drawing commands, the curve will be drawn on the terminal side instead of prerendered on the BBS.
Video shows the new features on an emulated Plus/4
If you have a dead 8501 CPU I can absolutely recommend the 6502 adapter by MCes. It is very compatible and uses a regular 6502A CPU (or 6502 known to be working at 1.8MHz) and fits nicely inside the C16. There is also a variant with slightly modified layout for the Plus/4.

Was made aware of this reproduction book from a couple of years ago for the Commodore Plus/4 and C16. I just grabbed the hardback book version and am anxious to check it out.

@electron_greg It would be cool to adapt this for the Commodore #plus4 and produce DFLI pictures that can display 2 freely chosen colours out of a palette of 121 in every 8x2-pixel area. The TED chip also makes it easy to play digital samples.

www.youtube.comAll images were recorded using a RetroTink 4K, outputting a 1080p signal image, captured with an Elgato Game Capture HD60S+ and OBS. The Commodore 16 was hooked into the HD15 input via a quality Commodore DIN to SVideo cable, using a Laser Bear Industries SVideo/CVBS to HD15 adapter.
(The HD15 input of the RT4K has slightly better image quality in its Y/C mode, than its regular SVideo input - which is still very good.)
Here are some comparison shots. The left is always before image - using the original modulator - the right is always the after image - using a TheRetroChannel RF-OFF modulator replacement, with luma bypass.
Second two test pictures are from "Carrion's 121 colors" slide-show, by Censor Design & Exceed, released at Arok Party 2023, Hungary.
Finally got around installing a TheRetroChannel RF-OFF modulator replacement into my Commodore 16. I ordered this a while back... The ground plane around the modulator put up a bit of a fight, but managed to do it in the end.
I'm not too comfortable with that tower of the Saruman TED 64K expansion, plus the luma bypass adapter on top of each-other, crowned by the TED chip, but it seems to work and it even fits under the keyboard in the black breadbox.
One more Commodore 116 keyboard screw conversion - check.
It looks good, but it isn't perfect. 2 or 3 screws can't be tightened fully. Maybe the piece moved slightly. The tolerances are very tight, the screw is M1.7 in size, and the drill-bit is 1.3mm... If it wobbles by a fraction of a mm, it can already cause this problem.
They're still holding though, and with all screws in, it feels solid. It will be good enough, I think. cc: @iszell
Oh no, they're multiplying!
One of these Commodore 116 doesn't belong to me, and overall it's in a much better nick than mine. Works perfectly, and looks very unmolested - but of course someone had a go at the keyboard already, and some of the plastic pins holding it together are already broken. No surprises there.
I will do the screw-conversion on it, now that I can, and have the tools for it, and then we'll see what else.

Kye - A #C64 port of Colin Garbutt's puzzle game from 1992 [UPDATE & #Commodore #Plus4] https://www.indieretronews.com/2022/12/kye-c64-port-of-colin-garbutts-puzzle.html
The biggest challenge was to recreate the SID tune within the confines of the much more humble TED. I managed to come up with a nice system that allowed me to play proper basslines that the TED cannot do natively by driving the oscillators from software.

Many hours later… it’s far from perfect but I’m happy I did it (some major discoloration on the backside, some of my supports were very unfortunately placed so I had to do a bit of filing but it works). Closeups are too embarrassing. I’m still a 3d printing noob. #C16 #C116 #Plus4 #Cartridge
I built a C264 Magic Cart (which is a Magic Desk style cartridge for the C16/116/Plus4 which can access up to 2MB of software from EPROMs). It’s very cool indeed!
