Since the native software of my Kobo aura is so buggy that always crash with certain EPUBs, after reaching a specific page I finally decided to follow the One-Click Install Packages for KOReader & Plato. I installed both KOReader and Plato.

Wow.

1. ubuntu doesn't acknowledge the FOSS debian core of ubuntu as part of the ubuntu history or story.

2. ubuntu refers to ubuntu as an open source project, which I don't believe is true. I think much of the ubuntu owned software is not open source, and is also offered in paid tiered ubuntu services, which actually includes security updates that ubuntu keeps closed source and are not integrated to benefit the debian core, so that ubuntu can sell their proprietary software.

Owners "of medical aids that run #ProprietarySoftware may be disappointed to find out that they must throw their devices away and buy a new pair, even if the hardware is otherwise still working well" [1]

You may not switch to something like Linux but the page lists some of the things Microsoft does with it's proprietary OS. Doesn't mention MacOS but it's probably similar, if not worse.
