The "what's in your pants, let me see!" harassers continue to be fucking ruthless in their desire to hassle people who are trying to pee: "Specifically, the bill would require local governments and state agencies to restrict access to certain single-gender areas based on a person’s sex at birth. These areas include government-owned bathrooms, locker rooms, correctional facilities and family violence shelters." - kxan.com/news/texas-politics/t

Always ask: what's the enforcement mechanism? Hassling people, asking them to "prove" that they're the gender they present as.

And also: Who might this affect? Anyone who seems "insufficiently" gender presenting according to the enforcer's views, anyone they want to hassle for petty reasons, and all trans people who have to be fucking paranoid when using the bathroom.

This is a no-win scenario for trans folks - meant to create terror in them while being in public. It also affects cis women who are not "sufficiently" feminine. All of these folks become subject to invasive and potentially humiliating hassling by people in power (teachers, security guards, social workers, etc.).

But there actually *is* a winner: freaks who want an excuse to hassle people, and people who want trans people to go back in the closet, disappear, or die. They are often one and the same.
