IMO this is better than more recent adaptations and in the league of the Soviet #LoTR films and almost as good as the most amateurist kids' videos.
Which possibly won't make any sense to those who were exposed initially to big budget movies claiming to convey #Tolkein's vision.

Just finished reading the Fellowship of the Ring out loud to my 11yo. The book has its flaws but boy is that last chapter good. For all that #Tolkein is sometimes regarded as a stuffy conservative, Frodo viewing the world from the top of Amon Hen is as fine a piece of mystical writing as you'll find. @bookstodon

Lord of the Rings 7: Mining the Appendices for More Money

I wish the Tolkien estate actually had control of their licensing. Predatory perpetual licenses should be illegal.

Unless it’s a book, none of the money goes to the Tolkien family.

Of course, copyright should only be ~50 years, but that’s a whole different problem.
