Half auch kürzlich jemandem am Browser. Die Person hatte keinen Adblocker. Ich fiel mal wieder aus allen Wolken. Ja, wäre nicht lebenswert.

Aber es gibt ein paar Dinge, wie die (grenzwertigen) Werbe-Popups bei N-TV (siehe Geschwisterpost), die mit meinen #uBlockOrigin-Einstellungen nicht ausgeblendet werden.

Tipps?

uBlock Origin is great, I like how you can make custom filters to get rid of stuff you don't want to deal with.

I don't watch a huge amount of #YouTube, but #Firefox plus #uBlockOrigin seems to block adverts reliably for me.

On Android, I've changed the default application so that YouTube links open in Firefox rather than in the YouTube app. As well as blocking adverts, that enables me to listen to music in the background — something the Android app refuses to do.

Common privacy techniques such as clearing cookies or using Private Browsing did not protect against this technique.

Browser vendors are working to block this traffic, some have already pushed updates.

I guess anti-tracking filters for ad blockers such as #uBlockOrigin did prevent this (not including the #MetaPixel script or not allowing the #Yandex localhost traffic).

Anybody has any details?

Right. And it's not just supercookies, either: sites use all sorts of other utilities to fingerprint you and then track you across the Web.

Deleting cookies does not anonymise you and is no substitute for refusing permission for them to track you and making #tracking as hard as possible. Ways to do that include #Firefox, #uBlockOrigin, #PrivacyBadger, #Decentraleyes and (for those with the know-how) #PiHole.

My experience is similar to yours, Tyler: I use #Firefox, #uBlockOrigin and a bunch of other self-defence plugins, such as #decentraleyes and #PrivacyBadger, all running on Linux. With one exception, everything Just Works. The only site that requires #GoogleChrome is a private site run by my employer. That, IMHO, is just sloppy engineering; it shouldn't be hard to run an HR site without locking clients into a single browser.

Lauren, if you'd like to persevere with Firefox, you might consider typing about:profiles into the address bar, setting up a new profile (a trivial operation), and seeing if that works with the sites you want to use.

I really feel like if AI were genuinely This Popular it wouldn't need to be forced into things and turned on by default.

People should be rushing the doors of ai sites, and there's a lot of them.

But nope, here's a box at the top of Google that lies to you. You need #uBlockOrigin to remove it but we prevented Chrome users from installing it ^^

Well, this stinks. YouTube has figured out how to bypass the uBlock Origin ad-blocker in Vivaldi again.

<sigh>

So back to using Firefox as an ad-less YT viewer since uBlock is still doing the job.

And no, I don't give a sh*t that 'ad blocker violate YT.' I hate getting ads shoved down my throat.

#DuckDuckGo extension installed in FF.
I noticed an "advertisements" in the settings, opt-out.
Besides helping to spread #DDG: https://duckduckgo.com/spread perhaps a donation link is a nice addition there. But I understand they don't take donations.

Instead, they ask to disable ad blockers.

#uBlockOrigin installed.
Sorry, not sorry. ;)

Also, location use disabled, and all AI features of the extension. Useless and a waste of resources as far as I'm concerned.
