Insomnia. Haven't slept properly in a week. Have been trying to sleep for 5 hours. Up & taking a break from trying to sleep now. Was barely functional yesterday. I think I'll call in sick today. I can barely keep a coherent thought in my head. Concentrating for more than thirty seconds escapes me.

It would be nice if this crap were more predictable.

A few days ago I received a text from "Boston Dental" in downtown Boston, a "friendly reminder that you are due for your dental cleaning."
I haven't used Boston Dental since so long ago that I didn't remember _ever_ using them until I went and looked it up in my bookkeeping software. It's been at least a decade.
I texted back and told them that, and asked for an explanation of how this happened and how many other people they did this to.

Ugh I don't know if I've pulled a muscle on the bottom of my right ribcage or cracked a rib with my forceful hacking cough. Even bending over is sharply painful and coughing is agony. It's in a funny place where I can't brace against the rib motion

That and bad sinus/ear congestion are what's left of my week-long illness. I guess I should be thankful

At least my normal Homelab posts could be categorized as "useful" to someone, somewhere, if not exactly great prose.

But this thing I'm currently putting together on my backup operator is on the best way to become the first rm -rf'ed post in my blog's existence.

You know what's sickening to me is when someone asks for my #honest and #professional advice, knowing that it is grounded in #experience and #knowledge just to knowingly disregard it and then come on #whining when precisely happens what I predicted!

Going nuts with a much worse than usual ear/toothache the last couple of days. I've had the dentist check the tooth a couple of times before and it's fine. As badly as it was hurting I figured something must be wrong so I went to urgent care today but there's no sign of ear or sinus infection either. She said to go back on the Flonase (allergy med) daily and alternate applying cold and heat. The heat definitely helps.

WSJT-X pet peeve: hitting ESC with the waterfall window in focus dismisses that window. There is no keyboard shortcut to bring it back.

I do this like 3 or 4 times a session.

This is on the Mac.

It both sucks AND is annoying.

You can see back in 2006 (Before the current owner) the right of way was generally clear but it got more full starting around 2020 and encroached into City land before stuff moved out last summer. I'll have pictures of the pathway next week! #PortAlberni #development #whining #activetransportation

The phrase, “suck it up buttercup”, comes to mind with this business owner who has been using city land/a public right of way for the benefit of his business for 16 years and now complains to the newspaper two years after he was notified he had to remove his stuff.
He has family connections with a former city councillor so there is no doubt he knows.
