One of the cool updates is we're using zlib-ng 2.2.2 instead of zlib 1.2.8/1.3.1, which is more than twice as fast at saving PNGs at higher compression levels.
In more detail, zlib-ng has the same file sizes for compression level 0 and bigger files for level 1, but if you care about size, any higher level gives more or less the same file size, and zlib-ng is much faster.

如果注册帐号， 一天可以下载 10 本书，经过十多个小时，又可以重新下载， 不需要经过 24 小时。

某些国外邮箱不能接收 z-lib 注册时的确认邮件，

可以专门申请邮箱，只用于注册 z-lib 帐号，这样即使发生 z-lib 帐号密码泄漏事件，也能将损失降到最低。

一个搜索中文书的技巧：
如果想看未经阉割的、海外华人写的书，不要使用简体字（残体字）， 可以使用繁体字（正体字）在 z-lib 的搜索框内搜索，
比如，搜索“余英时/余英時", "张爱玲/張愛玲"，结果就不一样。
对于共产教的护国大法师、红衣大主教， 周树人（鲁迅）的书，刻薄、狠毒，还是尽量远离为好。
既然翻墙出来了，可以去了解一下：苏雪林/蘇雪林、胡适/胡適、林语堂/林語堂、梁实秋/梁實秋等人的书。
推荐一本书： 殷海光翻译的《到奴役之路》。

今年（2024年）6月份，因为有人建立了 z-lib 的假冒网站，而且宣称是唯一的正宗网站，欺骗用户捐款、赞助。
有些 z-lib 用户，不慎登录了这些假冒网站，大约 1000 万用户的信息被这些假冒网站窃取。
有些人注册了这些假冒网站之后，收到了有毒链接的邮件。

lil.law.harvard.eduToday I had a quick look at compression speed of the various compression algorithms in #UnrealEngine.
In my use case, speed is more important than compression ratio, so I had COMPRESS_BiasSpeed set.
To little surprise, #gzip and #zlib took about the same time, and #lz4 was a lot slower.
The big surprise was #Oodle, which was faster than all others. By a lot.
So, if you are compressing data in your Unreal game at runtime, you might want to check if Oodle is an option for you.

zlib is 28 years old and it still gets releases every once in a while for bug and security fixes. It got a CVE in 2022.
Why is this? No shade on the project or developers. Is it because the project is so widely used and scrutinized?
For such a crucial library, I can't help but wonder if there is a gap in design or testing. Would I be off-base? Given zlib's maturity, could a reimplementation ever be justified?
