I absolutely understand where you're coming from. Earlier this year when my dad told me he was letting up on his initial COVID precautions for exactly that reason I didn't argue it with him. His reasoning was that he's lived a good life, he's beyond the average life expectancy and he had things he wanted to do.
A few weeks back he told me how much he regretted that decision. COVID didn't kill him, but it did give him brain fog so bad that his number one joy in life, reading, is beyond his mental abilities now. Him and a few of the old guys in his circle of friends are all in the same boat. They're miserable and their doctors have nothing to help them.
Whatever choices you make, just be informed and may you make it through 2023 happy and healthy.
@BE @Homoevolutis0 @augieray self-delusion about safety and life’s worth can be as dangerous as Covid - sorry to hear when it results in illness or disability.
@BE @Homoevolutis0 @augieray so sorry to hear this 😠
I had a mild case of brain fog, curcumin (clinical dose levels) helped, pretty much eliminated it. Not sure if you've tried that or heard of it. In my mum's case, 81, getting the most recent vaccine has mostly eliminated her long covid. Sorry if I'm just throwing useless info at you that you have tried or isn't applicable. Best of luck for your father and his mates.

Appreciate that! I've really tried not to give anyone I know advice on what to take as it's really not in my wheelhouse, but being that my dad's doctor isn't doing anything he's trying some things. Based on some other people's ideas he's actually starting with nattokinase and trying quercetin as well.
@BE @Homoevolutis0 @augieray yeah I feel the same and hesitated because didn't want to come across as some kind of zealot haha. Just the things that have worked in my experience. Might be other explanations or natural recovery. There is some clinical evidence for both examples I gave being potentially useful for long covid, but it's still not well threshed out. I guess doctors try and stick with known knowns.
@BE @techlife @Homoevolutis0 @augieray
That tells me your dad needs a new doctor.
One who fails to treat a condition for which there are possibilities is not doing their job.
@LadyCowParsley @techlife @Homoevolutis0@dobbs.town @augieray
It's by far the most common outcome with doctors for people with long COVID, unfortunately. Even the specific "long COVID clinics" mostly just test at this point and don't treat. There's millions of people in the US alone having the same experience.
@BE @LadyCowParsley @Homoevolutis0 @augieray doctors are at least starting to recognise long covid and accept it's a real thing, initially suffers were treated like me/cfs suffers; as if it was all in their heads. But there's a long way to go yet.
@BE @Homoevolutis0 @augieray Best wishes to your Dad.
@BE @Homoevolutis0 @augieray one minute video… This is Dr Williams, presidential postdoctoral fellow (CBE) at Cornell … for perspective. #COVID

Nothing too heavy in here, though I'd double check on the Baicalin. Also, add some Rutin, NAC, and Glutathione. Go one at a time and give a few days to acclimate before adding another. I don't think any are age restricted, but I could be wrong. All of them have been shown to inhibit Complement.
Also: Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and Astaxanthin. These don't inhibit Complement, but downregulate the production of core Complement components.
@BE @Homoevolutis0 @augieray Many deny the risk of experiencing a worse outcome of Covid consequences, not being immediate death.
Aging is a challenge alone without risk of adding a debilitating complication.
