Long COVID: 3 years in

"The acute months of the #COVID19 pandemic motivated an unprecedented response from governments, international organisations, pharmaceutical companies, and civil society. #LongCovid has not received anywhere near the same level of attention or resources: the result has been widespread harm to health, societies, and economies. 3 years in, more is needed to recognise, treat, and support patients"

@travelhealthdoc This is just our problem with everything-- if it doesn't kill you immediately then it's fine. Ignore chronic problems. And thus the majority of Americans (6 in 10) suffer from chronic disease. And this is going to get worse in both frequency and severity with LC.

And if you can keep them alive long enough you can squeeze a bunch of money out of symptom treatment.

@BE @travelhealthdoc Yes. God forbid you actually let people just adequately rest when ill instead of suppressing symptoms--which are often just the body's way of healing. When u suppress them, I might look healthier, u may feel short-term better, but really we often lengthen the illness, stress the system, and develop chronic issues. Then we get stuff like Covid/long Covid, which really capitalizes on these problems.
