If anyone is still looking for a high-quality sociological book worth reading over Easter, this is it (published in 2021 but I only just found the time to read it): Ellen Helsper's The Digital Disconnect

@CarinaCornesse@qoto.org There is also a free #Fediverse alternative to #Goodreads, namely #Bookwyrm.
It is still under construction and the book mentioned above is not yet reviewed there.
The functions are supposed to be similar to Goodreads (which is owned by amazon) and it would be nice if more people used it so that it becomes a real alternative.
An article about Bookwyrm has just been published (in German):

@datendetektivin @CarinaCornesse I'm on the Rambling Readers instance of #BookWyrm and I really like the site. It's easy to use and pretty quick to add books that aren't already in the catalogue

Sounds interesting, thanks! Can you recommend the app or should I stick to the browser Version?

@CarinaCornesse@qoto.org I have no experience of this myself. If (mobile) browser / webapp doesn't work well, you could try this app for #Bookwyrm

@datendetektivin

"bookrastinating" unfortunately sounds like the ideal instance for me...

@CarinaCornesse Just started using Bookwyrm a couple of weeks ago. Interesting book leads (and worms).
