ISTM that paths built to munros and the like, are not built for walkers. I see so many people, not just older but younger too, using walking poles as "going down these steps makes my knees hurt".

Yet when I've followed an old stalkers path with it's easy gradients, zigzags, and gravel surface I have little problem and get into the hills pretty quickly.

I wish the path builders would make stalkers paths rather than helicopter in rocks to make knee grinding obstacles.

I wish they wouldn't burn fossil fuels by using helicopters (etc) to transport the rock & gravel for the paths.

@Empiricism_Reloaded @AeonMach Bring back the hill ponies! Think it's to reduce damage from equipment they'd use instead.
