There are people that even when you refer to the evidence that shows how to live an ecologically sustainable lifestyle, they ignore that evidence & say, to paraphrase, "we're screwed!".

Their personal idealogy does not align with living (a personal conflict of interest)

A person hears that burning fuel is harmful for people & planet. But, they choose to take part in recreational fuel burning activities, what are they?

@Empiricism_Reloaded

I think you need another poll option in answer to your question:

"A person hears that burning fuel is harmful for people & planet. But, they choose to take part in recreational fuel burning activities, what are they?"

You also need:

* Trapped within a system where there are few fossil-free options (by design) and subject to powerful social, political, corporate - and biological - pressure to conform.

@Greengordon

Please look up the word recreational.

For example, many people choose to have campfires, BBQs, etc (they ignore the medical evidence because they want to)

"Trapped within a system"

Not in this context. Their behavioral psychology means they're making the wrong choice (people do that!). "Trapped" to go on that diesel burning cruise ship 🤔

"biological - pressure to conform"

That is certainly one aspect. Especially when young people feel as if they must conform to foolish adult activities.
