I still don’t understand what happened to Hamlin, the Buffalo Bills player. They’re reporting that he’s still critically ill but neurologically intact. His heart stopped. I get that. Some speculated it was one of those freak things like when a little league batter gets hit in the chest with a ball and it stops their heart. But why is he still in critical condition? Is he awake?

@Davidtoddmccarty I’m only an EMT so this is way outside my scope of practice but I’m given to understand that once someone’s intubated it tends to be a kind of a process to get extubated. If a doctor could expand on this I’d be interested to hear what they have to say
