Suppose it's time for an introductory post...
I've been in SEO, online marketing, and consumer behaviour since 2004. I've since gone in-house and am currently the Content Marketing Manager for Search Engine Journal.
But my true passion is the mystery and wonder that occurs at the moment technology and humans interact—how tech affects our behaviour and how we affect technology.
I'm completing a BA/BSc in psychology and computer science, but I also have two main projects on the go:
The smaller project is examining the methodology behind Quality of Life surveys and assessment tools. I'm looking at all the things that happen before and during the use of these tools and how they affect validity and reliability.
The larger project uses ML and AI to adapt software for those with cognitive errors and decline to improve autonomy and independence. It's been a labour of love for over a decade. I have 12 more experiments to run and one major snag to sort out, and I'll be ready to put all the pieces together. At least, that's the idea anyway. Either way, I suspect that I'll learn a lot.
That's what I hope to do here... Learn from others, share my successes, and if I'm fortunate, have a few things to brag about. The only thing I can really promise is that whatever I share here will likely be horribly and wonderfully nerdy.
Anyway, until I finally finish some of these lofty goals, I'm working on my last semester at the University of Lethbridge and look forward to starting my masters in the fall.
Until I get my act together and have something good to share...
