Dear Friends of #Linux Beginners,
Using my new superpower of being kind to computers, I entered my new desktop and started to use some of the terminal/cli/command line possibilities from a #cheatsheet. I felt like I was a power user. I am not a power user of course. I am a perpetual Linux beginner. However it felt good. I even poweroffed by typing "poweroff". I also killed some orphans. However not quite sure what they are in Linux Parseltongue.
I am still looking out for a simple way to create a home server, after my disastrous efforts to use a hosting service to run a mastodon instance/server.
Anyway more as it happens. For now food time ...
@Lobster if you use debian installing a server is just not install a gui.
Congrats with your successful linux exploration.
@Lobster
Hey! I'm a perpetual Linux Server novice, too!
I've got a few applications running here. (NextCloud, Pi-Hole, Grocy) What's your use case backup/storage? Serving media?
