Trip of a lifetime. First time in #Africa when I went to #SouthAfrica to collect dissertation data with my research assistant and attendant. We were on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town. It was #BlackJoy for me and #DisabledJoy because we were over 3,000 ft up on a mountain and I was in a wheelchair up there. Was an amazing experience.

I am still floating on air. We theorized that focusing on MAGA extremism would work. We bet the farm on it. The dominant opinion a week ago was that this was a strategic blunder. But we produced the best midterm for a president with this approval rating in the history of the republic. I was just on a call with thousands of Indivisible leaders and the energy, excitement, and sense of accomplishment was palpable. Feeling so damn hopeful right now.

Newbie question...I'm starting to use lists (what a GREAT tool!) and want to know if posts from people I follow will be in BOTH the home column and the designated list column, or JUST show up in the designated list. Wow, that was harder to phrase than I had anticipated, thanks for sticking with me!
@AmyMusician No biggie! The important thing to know is that is you ever get trolled, for lack of a better term, you can click on the three dots in the lower right corner of the message box containing their awful message, and you can choose to block them OR the entire server they are on. I think that's the last option, when you click on those 3 dots. My moderator suggested that I block the entire server when I was trolled, and with a server name like "freespeechextremists" it was a good idea. Hope that helps a bit! :)

I spoke about this a few days ago, but since there are so many new folks here: Mastodon has lists. And they're useful. You need to already be following people but you can put them into lists and then just call up that list. So, I have a list for journalists, and for tech law people. And it's super useful for me.
Unfortunately, lists are not currently public or shareable, though.
But test out the list feature to make Mastodon more useful.

OMG! This newbie just discovered "slow mode" and my life has changed for the better! Now I can control the rate of new toots being added to the various columns on my dashboard. Just go to Settings/Preferences and make sure the "slow mode" box is checked. Perfect! :)
