This will the photo the world sees of Britain today - a peaceful protestor being arrested for exercising what used to be an inalienable right in the UK!!!

@Paulos_the_fog
I only see someone entering handcuffed a police car 🤷🏻‍♀️

This picture tells absolutely nothing about why this person is handcuffed and entering that car 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe it’s just for a movie or that person just killed someone, we don’t know it from just seeing this picture. It could be even an AI generated picture

Without having the facts it’s easy to yell something but it makes no sense at all and is just feeding hysteria

@musictraveler @Paulos_the_fog the details appear to be coming out. The police say they arrested them because the van had "lock on materials". Republic say this is untrue, the only thing in the van was placards, and the police seem to be referring to some string that was used with the placards.

No doubt we'll find out more when the individuals sue.

@Paulos_the_fog rather unfortunate that "God save the King" does not rhyme with "the fascist regime"

@Ecosaurian @Paulos_the_fog a rare case where the rewrite has the potential to be better than the original

@Paulos_the_fog
Just A Reminder:

This is why we need to continuously struggle for the separation of 'church and state' in any government, otherwise ..

- The right to protest will be suppressed to try to control the reigning public image.

- Personal medical decisions will be limited, based on prevailing dogma.

- History will be re-written to favorite those who are currently in power.

@Paulos_the_fog honestly surprising to see the UK fall so hard and fast on the Rights front

@Paulos_the_fog Believe me, thats a very civilized. I was seeing how police beating people, brutally pushing in a bus, then drive in a police station, beat and torture, then repressing. You have it, sir? No. So... be happy that they respect you even in such a situations.

@Paulos_the_fog
When "protesting" includes the throwing of rape alarms at the horses, with the intent of spooking them and possibly injuring military members or the general public, then those protesters SHOULD be arrested.

Did you miss that part?

"intelligence indicated groups and individuals were planning to use and throw rape alarms in order to disrupt the coronation procession."
"There was concern that this would scare horses involved in the procession"

@Paulos_the_fog And this one too, which almost speaks for itself without comment needed:
