I'm not a #football fan, but have been (quietly) enjoying the rise & rise of #womensfootball, capped by the triumph of #MaryEarps as BBC Sport's Personality.... but equally, I have been depressed (if not surprised) by the response of (what some call) the 'manosphere' on Earps victory.
For year's #men have had their sporting triumphs celebrated, even when its been the celebration of trying not winning... but a #women winning SPOTY, you'd think the sky had fallen in.
I suspect that it would be difficult to find a group of more misogynist males than football supporters.
I noticed, in the other place, that people whose profiles I researched with a view to blocking them as I perceived their views to be either asinine, offensive or both, announced that they were supporters of this football team or that, with a truly startling degree of unanimity.
