New research from the Work Foundations shows that 1.15m UK workers are not eligible for Statutory Sick Pay as they don’t meet the weekly earnings threshold (£123).

This Ineligibility disproportionately impacts groups already facing structural inequalities in the labour market:

Nearly two thirds are women (69.2%)

A third are disabled workers (33%)

And over half are young workers aged 16-24 (52.4%)

This should be sorted by a Labour Govt., but will it be?

Maybe it's about time the government implemented something like we have in Luxembourg where everyone is entitled to full pay when off sick. Statutory sick pay in Britain is a "sick" joke. It's time Britain did better - VERY MUCH BETTER!
