I used to think my main cultural breakfast complaint was hot food vs cold food (I don’t like cold food for breakfast), but I think it’s that and high effort vs low effort breakfasts.

Which is also why I am now making scallion oil in a wok to make scallion oil noodles.

Leaving Southeast Asia definitely means ‘taking on the labor to make high effort breakfasts’ myself, but it’s that or ‘being utterly miserable about how the rest of the world* eats breakfast’

* except Mexico, I think

I'm a fan of full English - egg(s), bacon, fried bread, grilled (fresh) tomatoes, fried (fresh) mushrooms.
Under no circumstances are chips (fries) or baked beans admitted; EVER!

Failing that, warm, all butter croissants (with butter and/or jam - Philistine I know).

Ultimate luxury - warmed up Indian curry from the night before's take away!
