Fraudulently miscasting as "VAT exemption", UK Labour have today imposed taxation on education where there was no such imposition ever before, spitefully penalising those who were relieving the public sector of the cost of educating their children, pushing a proportion of those pupils out of private education for whom affordability was marginal, & guaranteeing a lifetime of indelible contempt from those young people whose interests have been targeted, soon to be voters in their own right.

@RejoinEU

I'm delighted that they have done this!

...and no it isn't sour grapes at all - I was privately educated myself!

To me the whole idea of a separate privileged educational system for the very well heeled is unspeakablly unjust!

I went to private school, it was a safeguarding nightmare riddled with institutional racism. These places should be abolished on human rights grounds, let alone taxation..

My 'alma mater' owned a huge chunk of the town of Eastbourne. It doesn't bear thinking about the amount of money that the town is losing in income due to the charitable status rules on educational establishments. I'd screw them for every last penny!
