American engineers, as we've been seeing lately at Boeing, are getting hamstrung by bosses cutting out the redundancies to put more cash in stock buybacks.
So our stuff will be failing on more occasions.

Given the number of screw-ups at Boeing plus other stuff I have heard about maintenance engineers finding swarf in voids where it shouldn't be and even sizeable assembly tools left in voids on new Boeing aircraft, I am beginning to wonder if Boeing should still be allowed to put passenger's lives at risk by manufacturing aircraft.
