I just received a major revelation. A big reason why people produce and make meaningful stuff is because they have really high standards for that thing.
There was no "good enough" hackable&free OS, so Stallman created GNU.
There was no holy system / a "good enough" temple, so Terry Davis made TempleOS.
There was no modern OS with "good enough" security and coding practices, so Theo de Raadt created OpenBSD.
There was no "good enough" version control system, so Torvalds made his own.
There was no "good enough" OS at all and UNIX failed networking, so OG folks from Bell Labs made Plan 9.

This is not just a thing about tech, you can find similar occurrences in art, science literature, hell, even government (Hitler, Stalin etc. with extremely high ideals).
I had these thoughts because recently I fail to find any motivation. If you want to give other examples, OR talk about what key points boosted your motivation to create, make, craft, produce; kindly reply.

Git was created because they initially used a closed source system, which seemed kinda odd for managing an open source software(hence git was born)(and yes, i am aware of the irony with github)
