Best argument I've seen against the national popular vote. Illinois did this same thing earlier this year I believe.
How destroy democracy in the republic :
1. Switch to a national popular vote because you lost the election but won the popular vote.
2. Still, you might lose, so in some states cheat : allow voter fraud, and even ban your opponent from the ballot.
3. Sit back and WATCH your side gain power. There is no way other states can compensate for this corruption when it's a NPV.
