My approach is something like...

Use discernment and have humility.

Always consider and evaluate against what you know from scripture, but also know that you're one Christian in the middle of the church age, with thousands of years of millions of Christians using their discernment. Everyone is likely to have some incorrect beliefs, including you. So have grace with others and primarily try to glean the good rather than point out error. We all have our own errors that are invisible to ourselves.

I think there are few primarily issues in theology, and that's where the problems are that need to be addressed, particularly if they're being pushed /taught /promoted. Both Paul and John called out other church leaders publicly in the Bible. But they didn't call out every thing that every person was getting wrong.

Not sure if this directly relates to what you were going for, but just some thoughts.
